Things to do in the area

There are many walks from Woodmancote village itself which is lovely and quiet and unspoilt. It is perfectly placed in between the historic market town of Cirencester and the Spa town Cheltenham and easily accessible to Bibury, Barnsley and the beautiful Coln Valley - 'The New Inn Coln' at Coln St Aldwyn, is one of our favourite pubs ( ) We also have 3 excellent local pubs. The Bathurst Arms ( ) which is 1.3 miles away is a good traditional country pub with open fires etc. There is a longer walk to the Bathurst across the fields and along the river - it takes under an hour.
The Green Dragon ( is 4.6 miles away and very good for a Sunday roast. The seven Tuns Inn in Chedworth is 5.8 miles away ( ) which has been recently renovated and has a very good chef. All well worth reserving in advance.

Cirencester has a fantastic farmers market ( ) and 'Made by Bob' ( ) has a wonderful restaurant and deli. Cowley Manor is down the road if you are looking for a Spa treat with two amazing swimming pools ( ). The Five Valleys around Stroud are close by which includes Painswick and The Slad valley -renowned location of Laurie Lee's 'Cider with Rosie'. For more adventurous activities there are the Cotswolds Lakes for paddle boarding and sailing etc as well as fantastic cycling routes from our front door. Slightly further afield but all within easy reach is Buford and in the other direction, Tetbury with its amazing antique shops and also Westonbirt Arboretum ( ).
